The Wheel of Time returns on Amazon Prime Video for its third season with a long list of new and returning cast members. After The Wheel of Time’s season 2 ending, which adapted the second volume in the book series, The Great Hunt, the TV series’ cast was left with depleted numbers due to the deaths of several characters. Luckily, this has created room on the roster for several new figures from Robert Jordan’s fantasy universe to take their places.

Naturally, one would imagine that The Wheel of Time’s season 3 story would pick up with the next book, The Dragon Reborn. However, the TV adaptation is skipping ahead to The Shadow Rising, with the intent to return to book 3’s critical events later on. With that in mind, integral characters from both books and previous book characters who hadn’t joined the show yet were added to the cast, resulting in the exciting additions of characters like Elaida and Queen Morgase.

Rosamund Pike as Moiraine

Actor: Rosamund Pike is an English actress whose breakout role was as the Bond girl in Die Another Day, which has led her to a prominent career in movies and television. She’s The Wheel of Time’s top-billed actress and a producer on the series.

Character: Rosamund Pike is Moiraine Damodred in The Wheel of Time, a member of the Aes Sedai who can wield the One Power. Moiraine kicks off the events of the series as she and her warder, Lan, search for the Dragon Reborn, finding Rand and the others in the Two Rivers.

Daniel Henney as Lan Mandragoran

Actor: Daniel Henney is an American actor from Michigan who’s steadily accumulated an impressive acting resume in over two decades working in the industry. His credits include TV shows like Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Big Hero 6. His role in The Wheel of Time is possibly the most exciting he’s had so far, allowing him to show off his talents as one of the leads.

Character: Daniel Henney plays al’Lan Mandragoran in The Wheel of Time’s cast, commonly referred to as Lan, Moiraine’s Warder. The bond between Warder and Aes Sedai is one of profound power, making him far more than just her bodyguard.

Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor

Date of Birth: January 1, 1995

Actor: Josha Stradowski is a Dutch actor who had his breakout in Hollywood for his role as Rand in The Wheel of Time. Since joining the Prime Video fantasy show’s cast, he earned a role in the 2023 racing movie Gran Turismo, which was his first feature film. His other credits include work that was filmed in the Netherlands.

Character: Rand al’Thor is one of the boys from the Two Rivers who left with Moiraine and the rest of their company. Since then, he’s discovered himself to be the prophesied hero, the Dragon Reborn. Unlike most men in The Wheel of Time, he’s capable of channeling the One Power, making him highly dangerous in the wrong hands.

Dónal Finn as Mat Cauthon

Date of Birth: August 31, 1995

Actor: Dónal Finn is a young, up-and-coming star from Ireland whose most prominent role so far has been in The Wheel of Time. Before taking over the role of Mat Cauthon in the show’s second season, he’d played a minor role in The Witcher season 1 and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, meaning he’s already a veteran in the fantasy genre. In 2025, he’ll also appear on Amazon Prime’s Young Sherlock, where he’s playing James Moriarty.

Character: Mat Cauthon is the lovable rogue of The Wheel of Time universe. He left the Two Rivers with his friends, but he’s the one least accustomed to responsibility, and has little desire to be a hero at the beginning.

Actor: Marcus Rutherford is an actor from Nottingham, England, who’s kicked off his career in movies and television over the past decade. The Wheel of Time contains his most prominent role so far, but he also earned some acclaim for the leading role in the 2018 movie Obey. In 2024, he appeared in the Oscar-nominated movie September 5, lending his talents in a supporting role.

Character: Perrin Aybara is the third member of the trio of boys from the Two Rivers, all of whom are ta’veren. He was a blacksmith at the start of the series but has since developed a strange connection to wolves.

Character: Egwene al’Vere is a woman from the Two Rivers who began the series in a romance with Rand. However, due to their respective destinies and Egwene learning how to channel, she’s begun her own path to become a member of the Aes Sedai.

Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara

Actor: Zoë Robins is a New Zealand actress whose most prominent role has been playing Nynaeve in The Wheel of Time. Prior to landing the role, she played a character briefly on MTV’s The Shannara Chronicles, another fantasy show that starred Austin Butler. Her longest-running TV role was in Power Rangers Ninja Steel, where she played the White Ranger.

Character: Nynaeve was the Wisdom in the Two Rivers, a woman responsible for healing in the small village. Upon joining her friends on their journey, she realizes her own potential access to the One Power and becomes an Accepted member of the Aes Sedai in The Wheel of Time season 2.

Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand: Ceara Coveney is a young star who’s appeared in titles like Young Wallander and Hoard. In The Wheel of Time, she plays Elayne, the Daughter-Heir of Andor, one of the largest kingdoms in the world.

Kae Alexander as Min: Kae Alexander is a Japanese actress best known for her roles in Bad Education, Game of Thrones, and Fleabag. Min possesses an uncommon ability to catch glimpses of the Pattern, showing her potential future outcomes.

Kate Fleetwood as Liandrin: Kate Fleetwood is an English actress best known for her roles in Star Wars: Episode VII, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, and more. Liandrin is an Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah who revealed herself to be a Darkfriend in season 2.

Johann Myers as Padan Fain: Johann Myers is an actor who appeared in movies like Black Hawk Down and The Medallion. His character, Padan Fain, was a peddler who became a dangerous Darkfriend.
