There’s something undeniably sleek about aluminum luggage but it often gets a bad rap for being fragile. I know this carry-on will be durable because I, personally, put the same bag through the wringer in our testing lab, whacking it repeatedly with a baseball bat. I love how both sides can be fully zip closed and offer a convenient spot to hang delicate items like a maxi dress or suit. When there’s room in my schedule (and budget) to travel, this is my Tumi bag that gets the most frequent use. It’s almost always inside my purse since it’s barely bigger than a paperback book, but it opens up to a near-suitcase size of 23 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches. The best part is there’s no chance I’ll misplace this foldable bag’s pouch because it snaps inside to serve as an inner pocket when the tote’s in use. I love my black version, but a pink one to match my soon-to-be favorite suitcase is next on my list as that color is marked down 30 percent this week only. 

Tumi Merge Short Trip Expandable 4 Wheeled Packing Case

If you tend to pull items out of your suitcase instead of fully unpacking — first, same. And second, you need this style so you can access different sections without removing everything. It also expands more than 2 inches if you tend to do a little (too much) shopping at your destination. This suitcase features a useful front handle that will make it easier to lift off the conveyor belt and in and out of the trunk and, if you want a similar handle for in-cabin use, the larger, domestic-sized carry-on and the smaller international versions are both 30 percent off now as well.

Tumi Belden Jewelry Case

After luggage and purses, my next shopping weakness is definitely jewelry. I’ve tested tons of travel-friendly organizers, but this is the one I reach for the most. I especially love that the main section is a drawstring pouch because it’s hard to commit to a carry-on-only lifestyle if you need to pack two jewelry cases to fit statement earrings and chunkier necklaces. I’ve caught my mom eyeing mine, so the only big decision I have to make during the Tumi Black Friday sale is which color to grab for her. Three options are 20 percent off now; I’m leaning toward pewter but she may like the textured hologram hue or a smooth cabernet instead.

Bigger than most of the checked bags we’ve tested, this suitcase has a whopping 121-liter capacity, and that’s before the 2-plus-inch expansion feature. The case opens and packs like a duffel which means you can fit larger items like ski boots and helmets, and there are even daisy chain attachments on the front for extra items, too. I may be able to fit a ton into a carry-on, but if I ever took a month-long, winter vacation, this would be the bag I’d pack since that ski trip would be the perfect place to bring my beloved Tumi puffer.

I’m recommending this to my best friend because I’m tired of hearing her complain about her husband putting his dirty sneakers right in his bag, despite the shoe bags she’s bought him. This duffel has a separate compartment lined with waterproof materials to isolate wet, or stinky, footwear, but there’s also an outer laptop compartment for pre-work fitness sessions. Of course, it’s got the trademark Tumi organization so it can go beyond a gym bag and serve as a weekender bag for anyone who thinks more than two outfit changes is too much to pack.

The twisted strap, the pleated sides, the knot details — tell me, how chic is this bag?! I’ve eyed this purse with longing at the store so I can already tell you it will fit essentials like my wallet, small water bottle, and Kindle in the main compartment, and my phone in the hidden exterior one. The neutral khaki hue would also nicely pair with practically anything and the strap fits on my arm (even over my winter coat). It’ll also look great when carried by hand, but now the only question is: do I need the matching marked-down crossbody, too?

If a black backpack is synonymous with boring to you, meet the travel backpack you’ll never miss in a crowd. Its punchy exterior is matched with an inside that’s just as nice, featuring slip and zip pockets for a wallet, pens, lip gloss, and more. Along with the separate padded laptop compartment, other thoughtful features include a perfectly placed, magnetic-closure phone pocket that can be accessed without removing the bag. And, because I’m perpetually parched and always carrying a water bottle, I know I’ll appreciate the water-resistant pocket on the side so the backpack and its contents won’t get wet when I add a frozen bottle at the start of my day.

Tumi Tumi+ Charm Pouch

Before I owned a bag for my bag, I thought such accessories were frivolous. I now know that’s not the case as these may be small in size, but not in possibilities. It fits actual things I need like my favorite noise-canceling headphones, some dog treats, cash and cards, and even my keys so I’m not digging around in a bag without a key leash. I love the black and gold, but the same one with gunmetal accents is marked down to $59 as well.

Tumi Voyageur Tia Crossbody

A crossbody bag worn around my chest is my most-often-used purse style when traveling and this one immediately caught my eye because it’s larger than my black Persia Crossbody and the bright pink color is easy to spot. I’m adding it to my list because it’s very flat so I can wear it under my winter coat without creating a visible lump. I also know I’ll appreciate that zippered exterior pocket and can flip it around so that part faces my body to ward off pickpockets.

Tumi Tegra-lite Continental Expandable 4 Wheeled Carry-on

For times when I don’t want my luggage to announce my arrival before I do, I’d opt for something like this sleek suitcase. The continental size is 2 inches wider and 7 liters bigger than the international version (but both are on sale now). Available in muted tones like charcoal black, light gray, and blush pink, this suitcase’s interior is half fully enclosed and half stocked with compression straps for organizational flexibility.

Tumi Alpha Bravo Davis Backpack

If you have tech-obsessed friends who don’t want to be super precious about their possessions (other than their aforementioned gadgets), this is the backpack they never knew they always needed. There are separate padded compartments for both a laptop and a reliable tablet so their devices stay safe, and the backpack is made of the same super-durable material as many Tumi suitcases so they can throw it around with no worries at all (trust me, I have a ballistic nylon bag that’s nearly 20 years old and it still looks as good as new). The only disadvantage I see with this newly 30-percent-off bag is that there are so many pockets and add-a-bag attachment points, which means you’ll have to have a good memory to recall what you put in each spot.

Tumi Tumi+ Zip-around Small Organizer

If my middle name wasn’t Ashley, it’d be Organized because there are few things I love more than a pouch to keep my things sorted. This is essentially a roomy travel wallet because it has space for small items like Apple AirPods and my AirFly adapter in two elasticized pockets, but there’s also a zippered pocket for cash and cards too. If I wiggle things around, I could also fit my phone and my passport tucked in the backside pocket so I’m ready for customs when I arrive at my final destination.
