Dozens were injured after a massive fire broke out in Puchong, near Malaysia’s capital, when a gas pipeline burst, sending flames spreading to homes.
A gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, near Kuala Lumpur, sparked a towering fire on Tuesday, injuring 112 people. At least 63 were hospitalised with burns and respiratory issues.
The flames, visible for miles, erupted around 8:10 am local time and lasted for several hours, peaking at 20 stories high. National oil company Petronas confirmed the fire started at one of its pipelines and was later isolated.
The blaze spread to 49 homes, forcing evacuations as firefighters worked to control the flames.
Investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
