Beach volleyball is getting ready for a new moment in the sun.

The Association of Volleyball Professionals, or AVP, has struck two new multi-year rights pacts with Paramount Global’s CBS Sports and Nexstar’s CW. Under terms of the deal, CBS will broadcast the 2025 AVP League Championship on Sunday, August 31, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with other matches appearing throughout the season on CBS Sports Network. Meanwhile, the CW will air volleyball matches from across the nation on Saturday nights, from Memorial Day through Labor Day from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The new deals “are going to provide a platform to get this incredible sport more consistency and in front of as many eyeballs as we possibly can,” says Robert Corvino, the league’s commissioner, during an interview. He declined to comment on the financial aspects of the agreements.

Executives at the league believe TV viewers have been primed to engage more with beach volleyball in the wake of the 2024 Paris Olympics, which featured the sport played right next to the Eifel Tower.

AVP is the only national league tied to beach volleyball, and is made up of eight teams: LA Launch; San Diego Smash; New York Nitro; Brooklyn Blaze; Miami Mayhem; Palm Beach Passion; Dallas Dream; and Austin Aces.

At the CW, AVP will join a portfolio that includes the NASCAR Xfinity Series, WWE NXT, ACC football and basketball and Grand Slam Track. CBS Sports has longstanding deals to show NFL games on Sundays in the fall, the Masters golf tournament, and the PGA Championship. The company shares rights to the NCAA March Madness men’s basketball tournament with Warner Bros. Discovery.
