Stoke City top scorer Tom Cannon has been recalled from his season-long loan by parent club Leicester City.

The 22-year-old has 11 goals from 25 appearances for the Potters, four of them in a 6-1 home win over Portsmouth in October.

He was also on target from the penalty spot as they won 2-1 at Sunderland last weekend to reach round four of the FA Cup.

Stoke do, though, have a replacement available after recalling Nathan Lowe from his loan at League Two leaders Walsall.

Lowe is the joint-leading scorer in the English Football League with 15 and he could be in contention for Saturday’s away game at West Brom, having made his last Stoke appearance as a substitute in a 4-0 win over Bristol City in May.

Cannon, meanwhile, has only made three league starts for Leicester since he joined them from Everton in the summer of 2023 and may be loaned out elsewhere for the second half of the season or sold with Sheffield United among the clubs linked.
