Ski season is officially underway with West Coast mountains already welcoming guests, and that means time is running out to score an unlimited Epic Pass.

The last day to buy a pass, which offers unrestricted access to more than 40 different mountain resorts including several international destinations, will be Dec. 2, Vail Resorts, which owns the Epic Pass, shared with Travel + Leisure. The pass is currently on sale for $1,107 for the 2024/2025 season.

Dec. 2 will also be the last day to buy Epic Day Passes, which allow travelers to plan a trip in advance and save up to 65 percent compared to typical lift ticket prices. The cost of a day pass varies depending on the resort and how many days travelers choose to ski or ride (with the ability to purchase up to seven days). A one-day pass for Vail or Park City, for example, costs $123, or up to $206 less than a typical lift ticket, while a one-day pass for Hunter in New York costs $98.

“We know how important value and flexibility is to our guests as they plan for the winter ahead,” Courtney Goldstein, the chief marketing officer for Vail Resorts, said in a statement shared with T+L. “That’s why we created the Epic Day Pass, so skiers and riders can build their own Pass to use at their favorite mountain resorts, lock in incredible savings compared to the cost of lift tickets, and then decide later when and where to ski and ride.”

The deadline to buy a pass comes as some of the company’s biggest and most popular resorts have already opened for the season, including Vail, Breckenridge, and Keystone. Others, like Canada’s Whistler Blackcomb, plan to open this week.

Beyond access to the slopes, Epic Pass holders get 20 percent off group ski and ride school lessons, on-mountain food and beverages, lodging, equipment rentals, and more.

And as a bonus, Vail is planning a lodging sale next week for even more savings during which pass holders can score up to 30 percent off room rates across the company’s mountain resorts. All Epic Pass holders will have access to the sale starting Nov. 25, with the public allowed to book starting Nov. 26. Travelers can book the sale through Dec. 3.
