Manchester United are ready to hand a new contract to Chido Obi-Martin amid his exceptional progress at the youth level.
The 16-year-old joined the Red Devils from Arsenal’s academy earlier this summer. He is considered as one of the best young strikers in world football.
His progress has already impressed new manager Ruben Amorim and it may not be long before he makes his senior debut for the Mancunian giants.
His early development has caught the eye of the backroom staff lately and reports claim that he will sign his first professional contract this week.
Obi-Martin will turn 17 on November 29 and United are ready to hand him an immediate hike on his scholarship contract of around £20,000 per week.
The youngster is likely to be involved for United in the Youth Europa League. A good performance could see him break into the first team squad.
United will be in Europa League action against Bodo/Glimt at home on Thursday night. Amorim is expected to make changes for the game.
