Patch 7 for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, also known as Trygon, is bringing a lot of new updates and features to the game. This is probably one of the biggest expansions to date, and aside from routine bug fixes, there are a lot of balance and gameplay updates that players should be aware of.
We’ve been waiting for these updates for a month now, but they are worth the wait. This must have taken the team a lot of effort to do right, but it seems like it’s a lot of what we’ve been asking for. The new PvE mission alone is a big deal to add to the game only half a year after release.
New Mission, Weapons, & Customization Options
A Lot Is Coming In This Update
Patch 7.0 for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, revealed by publisher Focus Entertainment, is bringing a lot of improvements to the game. The update is coming with a new PvE mission, a powerful new secondary weapon, and improved customization options for players. This is also completely free, as it’s just another patch update to the game and not DLC or an expansion. So, the minute it is live, everyone gets to enjoy the fun features added in.

D&D Publisher Teams With Space Marine 2 Publisher On New AAA Video Game
Hasbro is teaming up with Saber Interactive to make a new video game based on Hasbro’s “tentpole” IPs, which could point to a new D&D video game.
The new mission is called Exfiltration, which puts players into a tough fight for survival. While the mission didn’t get many details in the patch notes, there are a few things that players can expect from it. Since it is an exfiltration mission, there could be a time limit that players need to wait out, all while surviving a barrage of enemies, or there may be a high value target that needs to be secured by the Space Marines.
A new secondary weapon, the Inferno Pistol, has been made available for the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes. The patch notes did not give players any details on the damage or rate of fire, so there’s no telling how powerful or useful it will be compared to weapons already in the game. One assumption we can make is that it will be pretty flexible, considering that it is available for these many different classes. Inferno also implies that it may deal some fire damage, too.
Keep in mind that these are from preliminary patch notes, and that when Patch 7 does release, it may come with more.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has also excitingly expanded its customization options. There are two new color designs: Colupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, which can be added to items and armor. There are also more options to change the colors of Bulwark Cloth and hands. Even though it may seem smaller, this is a win because this could open the door to even more colors moving forward.
Balance Changes Are Coming To Space Marine 2
Things Are A Little More Fair All Around
The Patch 7 update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will bring in some much-needed balance changes. Those who had issues with the PvE gameplay will be happy to see that the developers tried to make the game a lot better with these adjustments. One of the biggest changes is the expansion of the weapons available for each class. These are major new features to add as the public test server goes live.
The table below shows the classes and what weapons are now available to them. The Heavy Bolt Rifle and Heavy Bolt Pistol seem to be the weapons that most classes can use now, and so that’s likely going to be a popular choice for players. However, if the Inferno Pistol mentioned above can do well, it may be competing with the Heavy Bolt weapons.
Class |
Weapon Choices Added |
---|---|
Heavy |
|
Tactical |

Assault |

Bulwark |

There are also major changes to the Heavy Bolt Rifle in the Artificer and Relic Tiers. For the Artificer-Level weapons, the Salvation of Bakka Alpha variant has its magazine increased from 45 to 50 rounds and its ammo reserves from 180 to 200. This is great, but it’s not coming without nerfing other weapons.
The Drogos Reclamation Beta variant has been adjusted for better long-range effectiveness, with its accuracy reduced from 4.5 to 4 and its range increased from six to eight. However, its magazine is dropping from 50 to 45 rounds, and its ammo reserve is also decreasing from 200 to 180. A scope has been added to the weapon for tactical use. All weapons changes can be seen in the table below.
Weapon |
Changes Made |
---|---|
Artificer – Salvation of Bakka – Alpha |
|
Artificer – Drogos Reclamation – Beta |
|
Relic – Gathalamor Crusade – Alpha |
|
Relic – Ophelian Liberation – Beta |

There’s also been a maximum limit on how much health can be restored in one action for certain weapons, like the Heavy Melta Gun, Melta Gun, and Heavy Plasma weapons. This means players can’t heal too aggressively with these weapons anymore, so you’ll need to be a lot more careful with them.
PvE & PvP Changes in Patch 7.0
Both PvE & PvP Are Getting A Lot More Fun
Patch 7.0 for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 brings some big changes to both PvE and PvP. PvP has the most interesting addition, now allowing private lobbies for players to use. This is exactly how it sounds; players are no longer forced to use public matchmaking and can keep games focused exclusively on a group of friends or a community.
In PvE, a new Prestige rank system will let players go further than the max level, so you can finally reset your character level while still showing off your achievements. This is similar to the prestige level system seen in other games like Call of Duty. After prestige is reached, leveling up is the same as before, and missions can be done to earn more prestige ranks and rewards.

Space Marine 2 seems really connected with Warhammer 40K Lore, so is it worth playing if you don’t know anything about the series first?
PvP will also see a 50% increase in rewards for matches. This boost speeds up progress in getting items, weapons, and other resources. With higher rewards, more players may choose to go into PvP, which is possibly the goal of the changes. Either way, there are a lot of new features and updates for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 players.
