Rapper Lizzo is currently battling accusations of allegedly creating a hostile work environment for her employees, with a former stylist, Asha Daniels, leading the charge. Several harassment claims against Lizzo dropped by court

Lizzo has secured a significant win in a lawsuit filed by stylist Asha Daniels after US district judge Fernando L Aenlle-Rocha cleared the Grammy winner and her tour manager, Carlina Gugliotta, of all causes of action.

Daniels originally named Lizzo in a harassment case in 2023 for overseeing an “unsafe, sexually charged workplace culture.” The wardrobe assistant levied blame on members of the artist’s management team while also claiming to not have received her dues for a 2023 tour, as per BBC.

Despite Daniels’ allegations, the judiciary seems to favor Lizzo in the said harassment case. In accordance, a Los Angeles federal judge deemed the singer as a different entity from her touring and payroll companies.

As such, the judge decided not to penalize Lizzo for the supposed actions of her employees. Nevertheless, her managing company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc., remains a defendant in the case at the time of writing.

In addition, the magistrate in question also waived off additional claims from Daniels’ lawsuit due to the geographical aspects of the case. Daniels majorly accompanied Lizzo on tour in Europe, where most stateside employment laws don’t even apply.

Ever since Asha Daniels decided to voice her opinion against Lizzo, many ex-employees, including backup dancers, have come forward to raise similar harassment cases against the singer.

However, the Detroit-born celebrity has since denied all wrongdoings in a public statement. “These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional,” she remarked in an earlier statement.
