The actor noted that portraying the former professional boxer in the upcoming biopic has been “one of the most emotional, transformative experiences” of her life. The 27-year-old also paid tribute to the boxing champion and penned a touching caption on the Instagram post.

Sweeney wrote, “Christy’s journey is so deeply inspiring, and having her by my side during this process was nothing short of surreal.” The actor recalled, “There were moments on set where I’d glance over at her standing by the monitors, cheering us on, and I’d just become so emotional.” An emotional Sweeney added, “Knowing what she’s endured, what she’s pushed through to be there in that moment—it made me want to cry.” 

Furthermore, Sweeney continued to express her appreciation for the film’s “incredible” crew and her castmates. The “Euphoria” star noted that Martin’s story is “so much bigger than just a film.” She wrote, “It’s a testament to resilience, survival, and finding the strength to keep fighting.” 

A proud Sweeney went through an impressive transformation to step into the shoes of Martin. Last month, the actor lifted the curtain on her ripped look for the untitled film. Sweeney further expressed her excitement about unveiling the new project. She also shared that she will carry this experience with her forever.
